My specialties include:

• Counseling and therapy for clients focused on relationships, transitions, conflicts, distress, anxieties, depressions, moods, distractions, traumas, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and wellness goals

• Counseling and therapy for adults and adolescents with complex histories such as multi-generational family dynamics, loss, trauma, mental illness, substance abuse, violence, legal issues, immigration and financial stress

• Counseling and coaching for successful professionals, public servants, state or county employees (educators, counselors, firefighters and law enforcement), union workers, business managers, entrepreneurs, and their family members

• Counseling and coaching for college and high school students, and recent graduates, focused on maturing, life transitions, and future goals

• Consulting and counseling with athletes and sports franchises interested in player character assessments, optimal team performance, and player development

• Management and business consulting, hiring assessment, optimal performance and development, and personal coaching for creative types and leaders

I work with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds, successful people, underdogs, and people motivated to cope better and make better decisions. A significant part of my experience includes work with high achievers, athletes, and competitive people interested in improving their personal wellness and relationships. Overall, I enjoy working with people motivated to pursue their strengths and to address their challenges - in order to develop, mature, and achieve goals.

Focused on hiring decisions and optimal performance, I have many years of experience providing sports psychology consulting services for the New York Giants at the NFL Combines, along with executive consulting & team development services for Darwin Automotive, Apple Computers, Calvin Klein, GAF Roofing, and Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals. In this work, I have come to appreciate that core success, including: (a) effort, dedication, focus, diligence & grit; (b) relationship skills & emotional agility; and (c) learning abilities & cognitive agility. These ingredients are also relevant for success in families.

I have grown over my years as a psychologist working with clients, in my development with family and friends, and in my athletic and wellness passions - including running, soccer, basketball, football, kayaking, sailing, meditation and yoga.
